Goodguys 2023 Hall of Fame Road Tour – Day 6

Day six of the Goodguys Hall of Fame Road Tour rolled nearly 400 miles, all through arid, northern Nevada. This is a fairly barren region and with no hot rod shops in sight, so it was decided to have a Cruisin’ for a Cause poker run with all of the proceeds going to the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals in the California Bay Area – nearly $12,000 was raised which we will present to the hospital as a group during the West Coast Nationals event this weekend!

Participants received their first card in Wendover then drew another at the California Trail Interpretive Center in Elko – a unique museum to preserve and share the stories of those that headed to California in wagons and horses in the mid-1800s. A third card was presented at the Humbolt Museum in Winnemucca where they preserve and exhibit the history and cultural heritage of Northern Nevada.

The fourth card delt was picked up at Summit Racing Equipment’s massive warehouse and showroom near Reno. Tour-folk were able to pick up any oil, plug wires, cooling fans, cleaning supplies, or other parts they might need to get home before rolling into the Grand Sierra Resort for the night, where the fifth and final card was pulled. Everyone gathered for the evening’s parking lot Beers and Gears happy hour to share their poker hands – and Carl Casanova was the best hand winner pulling three-of-a-kind Aces and will receive a swag pack consisting of a $250 Summit Racing gift certificate, Bowler shifter, and a Lecarra steering wheel!

And just like that, the tour is down to just one more day! Will we see you at the West Coast Nationals this weekend in Pleasanton, CA?
