Goodguys 2023 Hall of Fame Road Tour – Day 2

With a few blurry eyes on Saturday morning, the group gathered for a quick drivers’ meeting before heading west towards Grand Junction. We usually try to take a lot of backroads on our tours, but I70 through the Rockies does not seem like a highway at all – the deep canyon road might just be one of the most scenic we experience on this trip! Breakfast and snacks were had while taking a break in Vail for a bit of exploring before heading to Full Tilt Street Rods in Grand Junction where lunch was served while we checked out their line of trick suspension products, projects and other hot rod goodies. Clay and his crew at Full Tilt went above and beyond helping 6 of our tour participants get back up and on the road – all of us on the tour cannot thank them enough!

We then saddled up and made a quick jaunt across town to WW Speed and Customs to see their current builds and some familiar Goodguys Top 12 vehicles now in Warren Walcher’s personal collection. The WW name may ring a bell for you as their F100 build called “El Diablo” won the Goodguys Truck of the Year Late title back in 2021 and they’ve produced other high quality, cool builds in recent years. It was a fun stop that served up a great ice cream social for us before calling it a night with a couple cold ones in the hotel parking lot for the nightly Beers & Gears being hosted this year by Roseville Rod & Custom to hear about the day’s adventures – see for yourself!
