Friday First Look! 21st Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals

Get ready for some coastline cruisin’ this weekend, because Goodguys has made its way to Southern California to celebrate cool cars, sunshine, and hot rod culture at the 21st Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals! We’re revved up and ready to cap off our four-week spring fling of events with three days Goodguys Good Times, SoCal style!

We got a jump start on the weekend with the Thursday Del Mar Cruise, a laid-back drive that took us to some scenic spots around the San Diego area, including Paul Aardema’s engine shop, the Embarcadero area, Balboa Park, and the San Diego Automotive Museum. It was a great tour organized by the Over the Hill Gang of San Diego.

Friday brought some laid-back fun to the Del Mar Fairgrounds, as a colorful array of rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, and more filtered into the facility throughout the day. Early clouds turned to sun by midday, giving us the warm temps and golden glow we’ve come to expect from Southern California. The rides were shined up, the racers got the Goodguys CPP AutoCross track heated up, the Nitro Thunderfest cars got revved up, and everyone in attendance was amped up for a fun weekend.

We’ve got two more days of beachside fun on the way, not to mention the competition for the coveted Meguiar’s Street Rod d’Elegance award. If you’re in or near Southern California, you really need to make your way to Del Mar to check things out in person. If you’re too far away, stay tuned to Fuel Curve and Goodguys social media for more updates.
