Grand National Truck Show to Debut at the Pomona Fairplex September 16-17
Hundreds of trucks, vans and SUVs will take center stage at the inaugural O’Reilly Auto Parts Grand National Truck Show at the Fairplex in Pomona on September 16-17. The new show, produced by Rod Shows, was created to celebrate the growing popularity of these vehicles among collectors, builders and customizers.
The Grand National Truck Show is open to all types and styles of trucks, vans and SUVs from 1900 to today, regardless of make, model or year. Rod Shows, known for producing the West Coast’s largest and longest-running hot rod shows, will host the premier truck-only event. The Grand National Truck Show is presented by LMC Truck and Classic Truck Performance Magazine.
Inside the buildings, entrants will compete for awards in more than 35 judged classes, including the inaugural World’s Most Beautiful Truck award presented by ARP Fasteners. The winner of this coveted prize will receive $12,500 and a custom trophy. Additional awards will be presented for best display, paint, interior, engine, detailing and more.
“So many people are passionate about beautiful trucks and different types of vehicles. We wanted to create a show that celebrates these hard-working showpieces,” said John Buck, owner of Rod Shows. “With our long history of hosting shows at the Fairplex, we’re excited to see a lot of new and familiar faces this September.”
Local enthusiasts are encouraged to show off their rides at the Grand National Truck-In. This two-day outdoor portion of the show is open to all years and styles of trucks, SUVs and vans. It’s the perfect place to cruise in with your truck, hang out with your club and maybe even take home an award. Two-day Truck-In pre-registration is $80, which includes show admission for two, a dash plaque and a goody bag. Single-day on-site registration is $50 per day (cash only).
Truck enthusiasts, gearheads and fun seekers alike will find something to enjoy at this brand-new show, including vendors, great food and live entertainment. Talented artists will donate their time to the popular Pinstriper Charity Auction, which features some of the best pinstripers in the country creating art to be auctioned off for charity. For a minimal donation, attendees can bring a cell phone, laptop or other item to get pinstriped for a great cause. All proceeds benefit the Volunteers for Veterans Foundation.
Those looking for a little friendly competition will want to sign up for the Grand National Truck Show Cornhole Tournament. With $1,000 in prize money on the line, competitors will go head-to-head in preliminary competition on Saturday and battle it out in final eliminations on Sunday.
The Grand National Truck Show will be open to the public Saturday, September 16, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday, September 17, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Adult admission is $20 each day, $10 for children ages 6 to 12 and children under 5 are admitted free. Parking is $17 per vehicle.
