Goodguys Runs on Red Line Oil!

Here at Goodguys Rod & Custom Association we have a lot of engines to keep happy and we rely on Red Line Oil to keep them running at their best. From the iconic Gary Meadors ’32 Tudor – the Goodguys “logo car” – to 4,000 horsepower racecars, Red Line Oil products run through them all and standup to the test!

goodguys shop

During this COVID-19 downtime, we’ve been out in the shop at Goodguys headquarters working on the Goodguys’ cars getting them serviced for their next road trip. One of the items on the “to do list” for each car is replacing fluids and filters…that’s where Red Line Oil comes in. Goodguys has been using Red Line full-synthetic 5w30 and 10w30 motor oil by the gallons, as well as their full-synthetic Lightweight ATF for years now without fault. Anyone that knows Goodguys, knows that these cars get driven!

Aside from engine oil and transmission fluid, Goodguys President Marc Meadors also assembles his drag racing engines using Red Line Liquid Assembly Lube. The new liquid formula offers advanced protection during start up, blends into the motor oil, can be used for both engine and drivetrain assembly, and is great for street applications as well.

Marc has also relied on Red Line’s 50wt, 60wt, and 70wt racing oil for over two decades in all his drag racing engine applications. From supercharged alcohol and nitro burning Hemi’s, to new turbocharged powerplants (Hemi and small block Ford), Red Line Oil keeps the friction to a minimum when pushing 9,000-plus RPM’s.

Light Racing ATF

Red Line’s Lightweight Racing ATF offers superior consistency and wear protection for Bracket and Heads-Up drag racing transmissions like Powerglide and Turbo 400. Popular with turbo and blown doors slammers like NMRA, NMCA, ORSCA and PSCA, the product replaces hydraulic oils and other non-ATFs used to escape heat issues. Its low viscosity offers less frictional drag for quicker ETs and more MPH. The ATF dissipates heat for longer trans life, better clutch, gear, and seal life.

5W30 Motor Oil

Red Line’s 5W30 Motor Oil is the most popular oil for modern road cars and light trucks, as specified for most late-model BMW, General Motors, and Nissan vehicles. This product offers a thicker oil film at operating temperature than a petroleum 10W40.

10W30 Motor Oil

Red line’s 10W30 Motor Oil offers an all-weather viscosity grade for passenger cars and light trucks. It is popular in crate engines and high-performance V-8 engines. This product offers a thicker oil film at operating temperature than a petroleum 10W40.

Director of Media & Marketing

A lifelong car kid, Steven grew up around drag strips – his name may sound familiar because his grandfather is Bob Bunker, a Pro Mod pioneer who piloted the “Folsom Flash” ’55 Chevy from the ’70s through the ’90s. Steven’s father, Bob Bunker Jr., heads up Bunker Motorsports and is a regular in the West Coast racing scene, building chassis and race cars for more than 30 years. With genetics like that, it’s no wonder Steven has a passion for both cars and motorsports. In addition to helping his father and honing his fabrication skills at Bunker Motorsports, Steven began shooting photos at the drag strip and capturing the action with his Canon camera. He is now artfully crafting stories around the awesome machines at the shows, as well as the men and women behind them. When he's is not on the road covering events, he spends his downtime out on the water fishing, building his 1962 Chevy Nova, or cruising his 1987 GMC Suburban.
