Friday First Look! Goodguys 2nd RaceDeck Salt Lake Nationals

Goodguys rolled into Salt Lake City this week to bring a little hot rodding fun to the foot of the Wasatch Mountain range with the 2nd RaceDeck Salt Lake Nationals at Utah State Fairpark. In just its second year, this event is already shaping up to be a highlight on the Goodguys calendar and a good-time destination for hot rod and custom enthusiasts throughout the Western US!

The four-wheeled fun began on Thursday with a fantastic Hot Rod Cruise coordinated and led by Steven Fern of Wasatch Rods and Customs car club. The 140-mile route took us on a scenic mountain drive up through Park City and into the tiny town of Huntsville for lunch.

Afterward, we cruised back down to Salt Lake City and into the city for laid-back Kickoff Party hosted by event sponsor RaceDeck at their company headquarters. Rodders were eager to tour the manufacturing facility where the company’s versatile and tough flooring panels are made, and enjoyed hanging out in the parking lot, listening to tunes, and grabbing good eats from food truck vendors.

By the time Friday morning rolled around, enthusiasts were amped up and ready to roll into the scenic and historic Utah State Fairpark, where they could spread out, shine up and show off their rides, and catch up with fellow rodders who have all been cooped up for far too long. Beyond the showing and shining, there was also a full roster of parts vendors, an expansive swap meet, a great indoor car show, and plenty of action on the Goodguys CPP AutoCross track.

It was fantastic Friday that set the stage for what is sure to be an even more energetic weekend here in Utah. Take a look at the fun scenes we’ve seen so far and stay tuned for more great coverage as we spice up the 2021 season at the 2nd RaceDeck Salt Lake Nationals!
