Friday First Look! Goodguys 15th BASF Nashville Nationals

Hello, Music City! Goodguys rolled into Nashville, Tennessee this week for three days of mechanical melodies as we bring the 15th BASF Nashville Nationals to the banks of the Cumberland River at Nissan Stadium! And we got the weekend kicked off in good form today as hot rods, customs, trucks, muscle cars, and more specialty vehicles from around the region cruised in, got shined up, and prepared for one of the most energetic events on our calendar.

A wet start to the day didn’t dampen competitors’ spirits for the annual Tanks, Inc. Hot Rod of the Year award. More than 15 bad-to-the-bone hot rods took off shortly after 9am for a day-long reliability run that took them down Tennessee backroads to a variety of cool stops. We’ll have a detailed report on the day tomorrow, but these teaser shots are a good indicator of the fun this group had. Be sure to tune in throughout the weekend as we reveal the Top Five on Saturday and crown the Tanks, Inc. Hot Rod of the Year on Sunday.

Back at Nissan Stadium, participants cruised in throughout the day, caught up with old friends, got their rides shined up, and did some cruisin’. With more than 80 vendors, many also did some shopping – either for new parts or used bargains in the swap meet. We also had a rockin’ Nitro Thunderfest exhibition and got in a healthy dose of Goodguys CPP AutoCross Series action during the afternoon.

This is just a taste of what’s to come over the next couple of days here in Nashville, as we have more of everything on the agenda – cool cars and trucks, AutoCross action, Nitro blasts, vendor shopping, swap meet deals, and much more. If you’re anywhere near Music City, you’ll want to make your way to Nissan Stadium to join us!
