Friday First Look! Goodguys 11th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals

It feels good to be back in Texas! The Goodguys 11th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals kicked off today at Texas Motor Speedway, igniting the Goodguys 2021 event season with a bang! The southern contingent of rodders showed up in force, mostly with Texas plates, but Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kansas, Mississippi, Arkansas, and more were also well-represented.

From the showgrounds to the swap meet, people filled the Texas Motor Speedway infield with color and chrome. The main drag was a happenin’ place as hot rods, trucks, muscle cars, and customs rolled slow cruising the grounds. Another bustling attraction were the vendor midway areas – a lot of DIY’ers were shopping new parts and pieces for their projects sitting at home.

We’re currently gearing up for the LMC Truck Texas Tailgate Party that will run into the evening. We have another full slate of activities on tap for the tailgate party tonight including a track cruise, the “No Limits” AutoCross Shootout, a live band, special food and beverage deals, Top 10 awards, raffle prizes and more!

Enjoy the gallery below for a taste of the action we experienced today. Tune in to the Goodguys social media channels for even more coverage this weekend in Texas!

Director of Media & Marketing

A lifelong car kid, Steven grew up around drag strips – his name may sound familiar because his grandfather is Bob Bunker, a Pro Mod pioneer who piloted the “Folsom Flash” ’55 Chevy from the ’70s through the ’90s. Steven’s father, Bob Bunker Jr., heads up Bunker Motorsports and is a regular in the West Coast racing scene, building chassis and race cars for more than 30 years. With genetics like that, it’s no wonder Steven has a passion for both cars and motorsports. In addition to helping his father and honing his fabrication skills at Bunker Motorsports, Steven began shooting photos at the drag strip and capturing the action with his Canon camera. He is now artfully crafting stories around the awesome machines at the shows, as well as the men and women behind them. When he's is not on the road covering events, he spends his downtime out on the water fishing, building his 1962 Chevy Nova, or cruising his 1987 GMC Suburban.
