Protect Sensitive Electronics with Design Engineering’s New RFI Shield Tape and Sleeve
High powered ignition systems, EFI and other digitally controlled accessories are terrific upgrades but there’s always a chance of intermittent performance issues due to Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). All of these systems thrive in a ‘noise-free’ environment and to help you achieve that goal, Design Engineering, Inc. now offers an RFI Shield sleeve.
One example is how electronic noise could adversely affect the trigger signal from the distributor or cause a driveability issue with an EFI system. The RFI Shield safeguards your vehicle’s computer system, electronic fuel injection, radios and most sensitive components. The Sheild is available as a tape or split sleeve and is designed to reduce interference from radio and electromagnetic waves to ignition systems and high voltage wires.
The RFI Shield Split Sleeve easily wraps around and covers wires without having to disconnect them, and includes a 17.5-inch grounding strap. It is available in 3-foot lengths in 1/2-inch or 1-inch diameters. There is also the RFI Shield Tape, a non-adhesive tape that wraps around the wires without requiring disconnection. It comes in a 1-inch width and 25-foot length, with a 17.5-inch grounding strap included. Both products include DEI Quick Fix Silicone Tape to seal off the ends for a secure safeguard and finished look.
