It’s been a long three months, but the wait is over – The Goodguys 2019 season is officially underway! The vibe was jivin’ throughout the event today as local rodders welcomed sunny skies and industry leaders set up their vendor displays and got back to face-to-face business in the crowded vendor midway.

Horsepower was roaring from the Vintage slingshot dragsters firing off over at the Nitro Thunderfest, to the Team Texas NASCAR machines pushing 180mph into the high banks. The pavement pounders over on the AutoCross course tore up the asphalt all day and put our new and improved timing system to the test. One of the new additions for 2019 is the website www.GoodguysAutoCross.com where live timing from every event is easily accessible so you can stay up-to-date wherever you are, check it out!

The family activities were also plentiful with the Goodgals Gallery, Kids Zone, PPG Coloring Contest and Swap Meet all seeing their fair share of foot traffic. All this plus more will continue tomorrow, so dust off those rides and roll out to Texas Motor Speedway for what’s shaping up to be another great day of Texas-sized hot roddin’ fun!

Director of Media & Marketing

A lifelong car kid, Steven grew up around drag strips – his name may sound familiar because his grandfather is Bob Bunker, a Pro Mod pioneer who piloted the “Folsom Flash” ’55 Chevy from the ’70s through the ’90s. Steven’s father, Bob Bunker Jr., heads up Bunker Motorsports and is a regular in the West Coast racing scene, building chassis and race cars for more than 30 years. With genetics like that, it’s no wonder Steven has a passion for both cars and motorsports. In addition to helping his father and honing his fabrication skills at Bunker Motorsports, Steven began shooting photos at the drag strip and capturing the action with his Canon camera. He is now artfully crafting stories around the awesome machines at the shows, as well as the men and women behind them. When he's is not on the road covering events, he spends his downtime out on the water fishing, building his 1962 Chevy Nova, or cruising his 1987 GMC Suburban.
