Wilwood Releases Larger Rear Disc Brake Kits for GM G-Bodies with 7-1/2” and 7-5/8” Differentials
GM G-body fans looking to improve their stopping abilities will be excited to see that Wilwood has expanded their lineup of rear disc/drum brake options. These new kits are now available for vehicles equipped with a 7.5-inch or 7.625-inch rear differentials used on the Chevy Monte Carlo, Malibu and El Camino.
New 12.88- and 14-inch brake kits were designed around Wilwood’s rigid Superlite four-piston calipers with two large rotor options adding to their previously released 11-inch DynaPro and 12-inch Dynalite brake kits.
The new two-piece aluminum hat-to-rotor combination houses an internal drum parking brake assembly. The rotors are Wilwood’s proprietary Spec37 iron alloy with curved vanes, 48 in the 12.88-inch kit and 72 in the 14-inch kit and both sizes are E-coated with your choice of GTB slotted or SRP drilled and slotted faces. Forged Superlite FNSL4R radial-mount calipers are Type III hard anodized
for durability with stainless steel pistons. Available colors include gloss red or black powder coat, or choose from 26 optional colors (additional charges apply). The brake pad compound is Wilwood’s proven BP-10 street performance with many other available frictions for your specific goals and application.
