TMI Products Launches Full Interiors for ’67-’68 Mercury Cougars
Fans of the Mercury Cougar, specifically those of ’67 and ’68 vintage, are going to be giddy about the completely new interior offerings from TMI Products, Instead of repurposing the factory design, TMI’s team completely redesigned the interior from the ground up with purpose-built components that complement the Cougar’s unique body styling while delivering modern comfort and style.
Let’s start with the doors. TMI Products’ molded door panels and quarter panels are offered in the original TMI Sport pattern design. These panels are constructed from strong molded ABS plastic and sold as a pair. Using factory mounting points, they are easy-to-install and have ergonomic armrests built-in for maximum comfort. They can be ordered in a variety of different colors and contrast stitching colors.
The new Cougar sport molded dash pad and molded headliner constructed of full fiberglass, complete with sail panels. These are designed for a seamless and completely clean look. The headliners feature cutouts for the dome light and visor mounting locations and TMI even offers new Sun Visors that can be sewn in your choice of material. There is also a sport package tray available and helps to finish off the interior.
To mount either the universal Pro-Series, or Pro-Classic seats, into the 1967 and 1968 Mercury Cougar, TMI has released Low-Profile Bucket Seat Mounting Brackets. These brackets allow for a bolt-in installation of any of TMI’s universal line of seats, giving customers that “Complete Interior In A Box” experience.
Complementing the seats and door panesl, TMI also released a sport full length console. The factory Cougar console offerings were limited, with no armrest or drink holders and very little storage so TMI solved this with twin cup holders, a deep storage compartment, and an ergonomic armrest all in a stylish package that is available in a wide variety of materials and stitch options to match the rest of your new interior.
To help complete the package, TMI offers a carpet kit and CNC-cut floor mats. These mats are engineered specifically for a precise fitment in the 1967 and 1968 Mercury Cougar and are the perfect accessory for any new Mercury Cougar interior. All floor mats come with rubberized back and heat-sealed heel pads along with pin-patterned back to grip the carpet and stay in place.
To finish off your Cougar interior update, there is also a stylized sport trunk kit that provides a professional finish to the trunk! This kit includes left and right panels, a bulkhead panel, a trunk lid panel, and a carpet kit for the trunk floor.
