Boosted OBS – Brett Haskin’s Twin Turbo ’95 Silverado

Brett Haskin had recently finished a ’68 Chevy C10 project when he scored a nice ’95 Chevy Silverado that he thought his son might like. It was a good-looking driver that had been lowered and rode on a set of 20s. It turned out that his wife and son preferred the idea of a stock, later model driver so the OBS officially became Brett’s – and another project commenced.

Brett promptly blew the truck apart and after having a good experience with GSI Machine & Fabrication suspension systems on the C10, he put in an order for their brand new OBS chassis. The truck rides on air with a staggered set of Intro wheels (22×8.5 and 24×15) wrapped in Pirelli rubber that nearly make the 14-inch Wilwood rotors look small. Not only did Brett want the new chassis for a great ride and stance, but also to handle the power he had in mind.

A 6.0-liter LS engine was sourced and rebuilt with forged pistons and stronger internals along with a Texas Speed cam spec’d to handle the boost created by a pair of Precision turbos. Brett crafted the tubing that routes the boosted charge through an air-to-air cooler before being forced into the Holley intake. A set of Fahler Speed headers are connected to a custom exhaust system Brett designed. A 4L80E trans was built by A&G Transmission to handle the 850 RWD horsepower while providing a comfortable cruising overdrive.

Brett handled a lot of the external bodywork and prep before turning the truck over to Myers Worx who fabricated the custom bed floor and the stunning sheet metal forms under the hood before laying down a stellar coating of Satin Steel Silver. The interior was put together by Daniel’s Custom Auto Interior and features a custom seat wrapped in Eureka leather. The factory dash was also wrapped and a Holley Pro Dash was used in place of the stock cluster with a Restomod Air system in place to keep the trick, comfy cabin cool.

The Silverado actually replaces one that Brett had built in his early 20s, which he has always regretted selling. Of course, that one was nowhere near the caliber of this version which scored a finalist position for Goodguys 2023 Truck of the Year Late running at the 32nd Autumn Get-Together. It’s a good thing his son didn’t want the truck in the first place!
