Speedway Motors Cars N’ Coffee – Simple, Fun, And Free!
On the last Saturday of every month during the warmer months, Speedway Motors Cars N’ Coffee takes over Speedway’s sprawling campus in Lincoln, Nebraska. A huge and colorful event, it’s open to anyone with a specialty vehicle.
Rolling into the second year, this year’s opener was a smash hit. It’s obvious the Speedway Motors Cars N’ Coffee generates a full tank of excitement for Lincoln’s car community. It was a hot, sun-soaked morning as locals streamed in behind the wheel of their hopped up rides. The influx of color and chrome seemed to go on for forever.
This year’s opener set a record too with 343-cars. There’s no question people are starting to catch on. It’s a simple show offered to fellow enthusiasts prepared to show off their latest projects, talk shop, and get a jump start to their Saturday with free coffee and donuts.

From luxury vehicles, land speed cars, Indy racing, to some of the very first engines ever created, and nearly any kind of racing memorabilia you can think of is presented under twinkling lights.
There are entire walls dedicated to display every kind of flathead intake ever made. That’s not hyperbole either – Speedway Motors Founder “Speedy” Bill Smith was a Flathead guru and prided himself on his collection.
Or perhaps you’d like to see the evolution of the pedal cars – there’s a room dedicated. The nostalgia inside of the Museum is infectious.
Less is, so often times much more, and with the no reservation attitude of Speedway Motors Cars N’ Coffee, people really seem to enjoy the simplicity and community the show proves to support.
