Fuel Curve Sprint Car Update – Cory Eliason Wins Again!
Cory Eliason and Antaya Motorsports/Goodguys/Fuel Curve 410 Sprint Car won big recently at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA as they continue their quest for the 2017 NARC King of the West championship. As of today, the team is second in series points trailing leader Bud Kaeding by one point!
“This car has been extremely fast at Watsonville this year, and it was really nice to get a win here,” Eliason noted. Eliason, a resident of Kingsburg, CA was fifth fastest in qualifying. He would advance from third to finish second in his opening heat race.
With the second place heat race finish, he went into the nightly Dash with confidence. A perfectly prepped car allowed him to pick up the Dash win putting our red, black and yellow car on the pole for the 30-lap feature event.
From his front row starting position, Eliason was extremely good from the onset of the race. Opening up a sizeable lead, he quickly found traffic within the first eight laps of the feature event. Continuing to carve through traffic, Eliason would get a chance to catch his breath when the race’s lone caution flew just beyond the halfway point giving him a clear track ahead.
Back underway in the main, Eliason wasted no time in opening up a big lead as he would simply walk away picking up his third victory of the season.
The NARC King of the West Schedule now takes a 5-week break before picking back up August 26th at Petaluma Speedway. After Petaluma, just three more series races remain concluding with the season-ending “Championship Night” at Stockton Speedway, November 4th. One of those remaining three events will be held back here at Ocean Speedway on October 6th.
