Lowrider Super Show Vegas – Wild to Mild

The Lowrider Super Show in Vegas was in a word, amazing! The Lowrider Super Show Vegas is one of many stops along the Super Show circuit, but is likely one of the largest. With over 700 cars in attendance and an unknown thousands of people, the Las Vegas Convention Center was the perfect spot to get out of the desert heat to admire the creativity.

Lowriders have been a phenomenon since the 1950’s. While the term Lowrider wasn’t widely accepted until the 1960’s the culture began much earlier. Early customs, like many built by the likes of Winfield, Barris, and Watson were very similar in style and function to lowriders. In the 1960’s the lowrider really branched out to become all its own with wilder paint schemes and a cultural following. Throughout the southwest and predominantly in Southern California the lowrider was becoming not only a style, but a movement.

The smells of hydraulic fluid and gassing clearcoat fill the air; sounds of hustle and bustle paired with the beats from the DJ booth and live bands echo through the hall. However, the real treat is for your eyes!

No expense was spared, the cars are some of the most detailed in the world. The bright colors, intricate paint jobs, engraving, plush interiors, spotless engine bays, and over the top suspensions are presented in extremely detailed and sprawling displays.

Words rarely will justify the amount of detail that goes into these cars, I would say to let the pictures do the talking but even then, until you can experience this for yourself, it rarely paints the full picture.
