Friday First Look! Goodguys 15th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals presented by Old Air Products
You can’t keep a Texas hot rodder from having Texas-size hot rodding fun! Despite the ever-changing weather forecasts for the Fort Worth, Texas, region, the kick-off for the 15th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals presented by Old Air Products saw classic trucks, muscle cars and hot rods file through the tunnel of Texas Motor Speedway to fill up the infield of the 1.5-mile track.
For truck fans, the LMC Truck Trick Truck Showcase, which officially takes place Saturday, already pulled in some of the baddest truck builds in the region with many more to join into one special parking area. Plenty of other slick rides filled out the paddocks and the south lot as others took advantage of the beautiful day to cruise around the grounds. Saturday will bring more special parking areas such as Muscle Machines, Deuce Doin’s, Camaro Corral and the Speedway Motors Home Built Heaven areas.
Action on the Goodguys AutoCross track was rolling all day with racers testing and tuning their cars to get dialed in for a qualifying spot for Saturday’s Speedtech Performance “Lone Star Shootout”. There was also tire smoking fun of the Urban Racing Drifting exhibition and ride along plus the roar of vintage supercharged, nitro fueled dragsters at the Summit Racing Thunderfest. To cap off the day, participants got the chance to take a few lap or two around the high banks of the speedway.
The LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals also coincides with the historic Pate Swap meet which fills up rows and rows of the parking area behind the grandstands. Basically, if you can’t find the part you need at Pate, then it must not exist!
Be sure to make your way out to take in all the cool cars, cool people and good times on Saturday as this year the LMC Spring Lone Star Nationals are packed into just two days! Goodguys will be picking Finalists for the their “Top 12” Awards including Muscle Car, Custom, Truck Late and Early, and Custom Rod plus there are two Builders Choice Top Ten awards being picked by Jason Hill of Hill’s Hot Rods and KC Mathieu of KC’s Paint Shop along with over 70 other special awards to be given out during a parade of power and beauty starting at 4:44 on Saturday – See you there!
