41st All American Get-Together

Saturday Scenes at the Goodguys 41st All American Get-Together

Goodguys kicked off their first west coast event of the year in Pleasanton with their 41st All American Get-Together – and it was an outstanding California kick-off! Thousands of hot rodders, classic cars and trucks, and modern muscle machines rolled into the Alameda County Fairgrounds for a full day of cool cars, cool people and good times.41st All American Get-Together

The All American Get-Together delivers something for everyone as all years and makes of American made or powered rides are welcome and it’s refreshing to see a bright yellow C8 parked next to a C2 or a ’65 Mustang cruise past a Fox Body then a Coyote powered Cobra.

Being in Northern California also brings out loads of customs, lowriders and tail draggers and it was neat to have Deadend Magazine fill one building with a lowriders and their custom paints, incredible details and hydraulics on display. In contrast, one building over was full of Mercury Cougars giving props to the Merc pony car.

Outside was absolutely packed with droves of people taking in the beautiful weather and great rides. There was plenty of racing action on the autocross as racers worked their way around cones and corners in hopes of qualifying for Sunday’s AutoMeter American Autocross Shootout. Other action included a tire hazing burnout competition and the roar of the Summit Racing Nitro Thunderfest with nitro burning vintage dragsters shaking and pounding the ground.

The day just could not have gotten any better and the great news is that we get to do it all again tomorrow! On Sunday the cars will fill the grounds again, with Goodguys handing out over 50 different awards including one Custom of the Year Finalist spot as part of Goodguys Top 12 of the Year awards program and many other special awards. At 3:33, all of the award cars line up for a parade across the stage so you get to see all the winners at one time.

Awards or not, the All American Get-Together has been an absolute blast – and hanging with friends surrounded by cool cars is all about – just take a look at the Saturday Scenes.
