Saturday Scenes! Goodguys 38th Annual All American Get-Together

Pleasanton hot rodders were for-sure ready for the 2022 show season…that’s a fact based from the opening day we just had today at the 38th All American Get-Together! The Alameda County Fairgrounds were jam-packed with hot rods, street rods, 50’s cruisers, 60’s muscle cars, classic trucks, radical customs, and a slew of modern machines from the Big 3. The highlight, however, this weekend are customs and lowriders with the Goodguys 2022 FuelCurve.com Custom of the Year Top 12 award being announced during Sunday’s awards ceremony.

The action was non-stop today from start to finish today with CPP AutoCross Series racing, a wild burnout contest, lowrider hopping exhibition, two Nitro Thunderfest sessions, a giant swap meet, vendor displays throughout the grounds and so much more and the Bay Area residents were ready to take it all in with a huge crowd showing up to enjoy the festivities in picture-perfect California weather.

There’s a ton to talk about happening this weekend but for now lets take a look at some first-day scenes. Be sure to check back tomorrow for the full weekend rewind which will include the winner of the 2022 FuelCurve.com Custom of the Year title, the winners from the American AutoCross Shootout, move event happenin’s, and all the event award winners.

Director of Media & Marketing

A lifelong car kid, Steven grew up around drag strips – his name may sound familiar because his grandfather is Bob Bunker, a Pro Mod pioneer who piloted the “Folsom Flash” ’55 Chevy from the ’70s through the ’90s. Steven’s father, Bob Bunker Jr., heads up Bunker Motorsports and is a regular in the West Coast racing scene, building chassis and race cars for more than 30 years. With genetics like that, it’s no wonder Steven has a passion for both cars and motorsports. In addition to helping his father and honing his fabrication skills at Bunker Motorsports, Steven began shooting photos at the drag strip and capturing the action with his Canon camera. He is now artfully crafting stories around the awesome machines at the shows, as well as the men and women behind them. When he's is not on the road covering events, he spends his downtime out on the water fishing, building his 1962 Chevy Nova, or cruising his 1987 GMC Suburban.
