Saturday Scenes! Goodguys 35th Autumn Get-Together

The 2025 season may be winding down for Goodguys but the good times are rolling strong at the 35th Autumn Get-Together! This is the last west coast stop of the year, and the weather could not have been better with blue skies, mild temperatures, and fall colors throughout the grounds.Saturday Scenes! Even with the perfect California weather, there was still reason to head into the buildings on the Alameda Fairgrounds as there was a cool lowrider/custom hall presented by Deadend Magazine, another building packed with several generations of Ford Thunderbirds, as well as a special display of trucks and classics. There was also a display of custom cruiser bicycles by Behind Bars, a pin stripers Brush Bash, hand-made gifts in Women’s World, and a fun Kids Zone highlighted with the Auto World Model Car Make ‘n Take – something for the whole family!

With Veterans Day coming up this week, Goodguys had their annual “Vettes for Vets” honor cruise featuring a parade of every generation of America’s Sports Car making a lap around the fairgrounds with a veteran. Throughout the afternoon there was a fun Smash-for-Cash demo derby put on by the Hayward Firefighters Local 1909 that everyone enjoyed.

Just across the grounds there was the squealing of tires and redline rpm as racers honed their racing skills on the autocross track in hopes of qualifying for the Fall Shootout on Sunday. More racing sounds blasted from the Summit Racing Nitro Thunderfest with vintage exhibition dragsters revving their nitro gulping, supercharged engines.

Over on the tree-lined shaded side of the grounds there were plenty of rust-free California cars for sale and right next store was swap meet loaded with vintage treasures of parts and collectibles – and this was all just day one of the Autumn Get-Together as Sunday promises even more cool cars, cool people and good times! Here’s a peek at what you missed and we hope to see you Sunday!
