Secure Your Car Hauler With A Convenient, One-Key BOLT Lock

Whether heading to the track for a weekend race or taking a classic vehicle to the latest car show, towing a car hauler loaded with expensive cargo can be a daunting task.

The BOLT lock (Breakthrough One-Key Lock Technology) series of locks is designed to deliver convenience and security to drivers by helping prevent trailer theft and eliminating the need for multiple keys. The vehicle-specific BOLT lock features a patented breakthrough one-key lock technology, which allows users to permanently program the locks to their vehicle’s ignition key.

Here’s how the BOLT lock technology works: when drivers insert their ignition key into the lock cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key alone. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position.

“Our BOLT Receiver Locks and BOLT Padlock are ideal accessories for frequent towers because they allow drivers to secure a trailer to a truck as well as lock up expensive contents,” said BOLT Sales Account Manager Jason Buckles. “The locks feature a six-plate tumbler sidebar that prevents picking and bumping, so drivers can get a better night’s sleep when towing on long, overnight trips. Plus, the technology helps reduce stress and downtime because you’ll never get to the track without having the right key – your ignition key – to unlock the gear.”

BOLT Receiver Locks, which are available to fit Class I through Class V hitches, are plated with a cast zinc cylinder and case for superior corrosion resistance. They feature a durable, stainless steel pin and a rugged cover jacket. The 5/8-inch Receiver Lock is ideal for most trucks and SUVs with a Class III, Class IV and Class V hitch, while the 1/2-inch Receiver Lock that fits Class I and Class II hitches. A longer pin is available for new GM heavy-duty hitches.

The BOLT Padlock has a spring-loaded, chrome-plated 5/16-inch diameter hardened steel shackle inside a crush-resistant body shell. Both locks feature an automotive-grade, stainless steel lock shutter to keep out weather and debris.
