Friday First Look! Goodguys 10th Griot’s Garage North Carolina Nationals presented by Tremec

It was a Good Friday in Raleigh as the Goodguys 10th Griot’s Garage North Carolina Nationals Presented by Tremec kicked off at full speed! Easter weekend may have cut the Goodguys show down to two days, but that just means packing more fun into Friday and Saturday – and today was proof of that!

Hot rodders rolled into the North Carolina Fairgrounds in muscle cars, vintage trucks, customs and cruisers of all sorts enjoying the car culture comradery and taking in the perfect spring day. Actually, the fun started Thursday evening with our friends at Raleigh Speed Shop as they hosted a kickoff party by opening their doors to check out what cool projects and cars they hd in the works.

A crisp spring Friday morning quickly turned into a perfect afternoon with vintage engines enjoying the cool air as they idled into the fairgrounds where they were promptly wiped down and buffed clean for show day. Once settled in, it was time to stroll the show area and make your way through the builders and manufacturers to see the latest products and parts followed by pass through the swap meet for a look at rare parts and maybe a collectible or two.

In the distance was the squeal of tires and roaring engines from the Goodguys AutoCross. Racers were testing, tuning and practicing their lines as they prepare to qualify for the No Limit Engineering Rumble in Raleigh Shootout on Saturday.

Tomorrow promises to be packed with even more hot rodding fun including special parking areas, more parts, more cars and even more serious AutoCross competition. Goodguys will be selecting four regional finalists for their Top 12 of the Year awards program including Muscle Car, Truck Early, Truck Late, and Muscle Machine along with the Builders Choice Top 10 selected by Jonathan Goolsby of Goolsby Customs. The afternoon is capped off with all the award winners lining up for a parade of hot rodding highlights at 4:44 – followed by the grinding and crunching of metal at the demolition derby. Don’t miss out on all the fun – just see for yourself!
