Hammer Fab Delivers a Complete Performance Handling Solution for A-Body Mopars

Usually when we come across a news item from Hammer Fab it has something to do with a fresh, super-rad build debuting or winning a major award, so when we learned about their Street Connection suspension upgrade systems for A-Body Mopars, it was a surprise – and a nice surprise!

The first Street Connection suspension system is engineered for Mopar A-Bodies to deliver next-level handling, a smooth, confident ride, and that head-turning stance every build needs. It’s been in the works for quite a while and has been rigorously tested on their Plymouth Barracuda test car “SLOBAK,” which is powered with a 440 big block Mopar under a stock hood with no cutting to the stock floor pan. (Incidentally, this engine setup required a modified Dodge truck rear sump oil pan to achieve a 4-inches of ground clearance.)

The Hammer Fab Street Connection Kit is available as a complete system, but also as a front and rear kit so you can build as your budget allows. There’s a Base Kit and a Pro Kit to fit your build goals. Not only did Hammer develop their Street Connection Kit to deliver outstanding handling and ride quality, but like so many of their builds, they made sure your Mopar would have space for different tire/wheel sizes while allowing for a perfect stance.

The Street Connection Kits are comprehensive and engineered to provide the ultimate balance between performance and aesthetics. The systems are based on an all new K-Member assembly, a unique frame connector kit that doesn’t  require cutting the floor, and a triangulated 4-link setup with RideTech R-joints for superior articulation and a 9-inch rear housing.Hammer Fab

The complete Pro Kit includes:

  • Versatile K-Member: This K-member can be installed as either a bolt-in or weld-in unit, replacing the outdated gearbox with a modern Detroit Speed rack and pinion system.
  • Standard tie rod ends – no bulky “bump steer” nonsense
  • Includes RideTech adjustable coil-overs for a customized ride height and improved handling.
  • Beefy splined sway bars in both the front and rear for unmatched stability and cornering prowess.
  • Reliable Mustang-style upper and lower control arms provide refined the camber/caster adjustment process. Rubber bushings make for a more comfortable ride than polyurethane, Delrin, or rod ends.
  • Wilwood Pro dropped spindles and Hammer’s billet steel dropped steering arms.
  • Baer T4 disc brakes and Remaster Billet Master Cylinder with proportioning valve, line kit and residual valves.
  • Triangulated Four- setup utilizing RideTech’s R-joints for superior articulation and strength.
  • Beefy 9” Housing with third member, Torino style ends and 31-spline axles from Gear FX Driveline.
  • 10-ga Steel Crossmembers that tie into the stock floor pan and side frame rails for  enhanced rigidity.
  • Rear Frame Stiffening Plates: Made from 10ga steel, these plates require welding, grinding, and fitting by the user to ensure a solid connection.

Hammer Fab designed their suspension system to operate as a cohesive unit – they’ve done the hard work so you don’t have to. Check out more on their Mopar A-Body Street Connection Kits.
