Goodguys 1st Virtual Car Show – Air Cooled Corral presented by Golden Star Classic Auto Parts

virtual car show, goodguys virtual car show, golden star classic auto parts, air cooled, VW, vdubThere’s a handful of Air Cooled vehicles out there that are eligible to park in the Golden Star Classic Auto Parts Air Cooled Corral but 99% of the participation at any show is composed of Volkswagens with the occasional Corvair joining in. Early VW’s have a cult following and their loyal fan base stretches worldwide. From coast-to-coast we see VW’s roll in and draw huge crowds to the Air Cooled Corral. Our California events are a hotbed for V-dubs, but Puyallup, WA draws a massive VW gathering of nearly 100 every year and we see a lot of cool Bugs in Columbus as well!

Everyone has a story about a VW and our story dates to the late-80’s and early-90’s when Goodguys held specific Bug Bash events on the West Coast that were a huge hit! We still love these Air Cooled rides and enjoy seeing them mix it up with all the American classics at events across the country.

A lifelong car kid, Steven grew up around drag strips – his name may sound familiar because his grandfather is Bob Bunker, a Pro Mod pioneer who piloted the “Folsom Flash” ’55 Chevy from the ’70s through the ’90s. Steven’s father, Bob Bunker Jr., heads up Bunker Motorsports and is a regular in the West Coast racing scene, building chassis and race cars for more than 30 years. With genetics like that, it’s no wonder Steven has a passion for both cars and motorsports. In addition to helping his father and honing his fabrication skills at Bunker Motorsports, Steven began shooting photos at the drag strip and capturing the action with his Canon camera. He is now artfully crafting stories around the awesome machines at the shows, as well as the men and women behind them. When he's is not on the road covering events, he spends his downtime out on the water fishing, building his 1962 Chevy Nova, or cruising his 1987 GMC Suburban.
