Good Times for You in 2022! Goodguys is Gearing Up for a Great Season of Cool Cars and Fun

Fire up your engines – the 2022 Goodguys season is ready to launch! We’ve got a full calendar of exciting events, new vehicles and enthusiasts to welcome, and engaging activities to keep the Goodguys Good Times rolling. All the pieces are in place to make this a memorable season, so let’s fill you in on what’s new!

The biggest news this year is a change in vehicle eligibility for Goodguys National events. We’re welcoming a broader range of cars and trucks by shifting to a rolling 25-year cutoff. This means any vehicle from 1997 or earlier will be eligible to register and participate all weekend at Goodguys National events.

The goal with this new eligibility is not only to increase the variety of vehicles at our events, but also to welcome a new generation of enthusiasts to join in the Goodguys fun. Whether it’s custom OBS sport trucks, tuner Mustangs, or AutoCrossing Vipers, expect to see a growing number of ’80s and ’90s classics throughout the season. This evolution will help to bring fresh perspective and new energy to events.

Beyond the three-day National gatherings, the Pleasanton-based Goodguys “Get-Together” two-day events will continue to welcome all years of American-made or American-powered vehicles. And more late-model fun can still be found during Meguiar’s All American Sundays at all National events.

America’s Favorite Car Shows are coming to every region of the country in 2022, with 17 events stretching from the California coast to eastern destinations like Raleigh, North Carolina and Columbus, Ohio. No matter where you live, there will be a Goodguys event within a day’s drive.

We’re returning to nearly all of our familiar locations this year, though there are a few schedule and venue changes. A new date and a new location for the 16th BASF Nashville Nationals presented by Blueprint Engines moves that event to May 13-15 at the expansive Nashville Superspeedway facility in Lebanon, Tennessee. We’ve also changed the date for the 20th Classic Performance Products Great Northwest Nationals in Spokane, Washington, moving it earlier in the season to June 10-12 at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center. This will be a beautiful time of year to visit the Northwest!

Most other 2022 events are scheduled for their traditional weekends, from the season-kickoff 12th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals in Fort Worth March 11-13, to the big finale 25th Speedway Motors Southwest Nationals November 18-20 in Scottsdale. This includes our two midsummer traditions – the 31st Speedway Motors Heartland Nationals presented by BASF July 1-3 in Des Moines, Iowa, and the 24th Summit Racing Nationals presented by PPG July 8-10 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus.

Event registration is easier than ever with the all-new Goodguys Marketplace. This new members-only website officially launched in January and is a one-stop destination for all things Goodguys, from streamlined event registrations and membership renewals, to exclusive partner discounts on travel, insurance, online auction listings, and more. Be sure to check it out at

Current Goodguys Members need to visit the new Goodguys Marketplace website, select “Login” and go through the password reset process on the Login page to complete the transfer of your membership account to the new Marketplace. It’s quick & easy…maybe takes 5 minutes.

You’ll also notice a cleaner, simplified check-in process when you arrive at an event this year, especially when you pre-register. Our team has overhauled the process, so you’ll spend less time checking in and more time doing what you love – cruising and hanging out with your friends!

We have some special displays planned this year to recognize some of the hobby’s most significant cars. The Deuce Doins parking areas, sponsored by Affordable Street Rods, will be even more prominent as we celebrate the 90th anniversary of the classic ’32 Ford – the quintessential hot rod! The highlight will be an epic Deuce Doins gathering at the 35th RaceDeck West Coast Nationals August 26-28 in Pleasanton, California, where we’ll be showcasing a massive lineup of historic and noteworthy ’32s built through the years. You won’t want to miss it!

We’ll be celebrating a different Blue Oval classic in Columbus – the Ford Mustang! A special indoor Mustang Madness display will have some of the coolest versions of Ford’s fabled pony car gathered in one place. Got a cool Mustang you’d like to include? Watch for registration details coming soon!

Of course, we’ll also have our usual assortment of Saturday Specialty Parking Areas at each event. Whether it’s the Air Cooled Corral or Homebuilt Heaven, there’s bound to be a special area to fit your ride.

Come for the cars – and check out the parts! We know Goodguys participants and spectators enjoy shopping for both new and used parts when they come to an event. That’s why we have such great vendor midways filled with the biggest names in the aftermarket. These manufacturer booths are staffed by experts who can answer questions about parts and help you make the right choice for your ride.

Beyond the vendor booths you’ll find an expansive Swap Meet and Cars 4 Sale Corral at every Goodguys event. This is an area all car guys love, where you can search for that new project vehicle, hunt for an elusive speed part, or maybe score a cool vintage sign for your man cave.

Every Goodguys weekend is packed with activities to enhance your four-wheeled fun. We’ve got smoke-filled Burnout Competitions, ground-pounding Nitro Thunderfest exhibitions, live music, model car shows, kids’ activities, AutoCross racing, and more! On top of all that, we’ll be adding Drifting Exhibitions to select events this season. It’s just one more way to keep the fun meter pegged!

Registration is now open for all 2022 Goodguys events, so don’t get left at the starting line. Visit to sign up and save some cash when you pre-register. Don’t delay, because there are plenty of Goodguys Good Times waiting for you in 2022!
