GEN III HEMI Valvetrain Components from COMP Cams
Comp Cams has been studying valve train components for years and continue to develop exciting new performance and racing products – especially for late model engines. For those Gen III Hemi enthusiasts out there, check out their new Evolution Hydraulic Roller Lifters and High Energy Timing Chain for the modern Hemi platform.
Comp’s new tappets provide the most consistent and reliable performance available. The patented design is a combination of a self-contained hydraulic cartridge within a thick wall lifter body and accompanying reduced oil volume that is less effected by oil aeration to deliver the most consistent bleed rates between each lifter.
Thanks to the smaller volume within the hydraulic cartridge, these lifters are the most responsive and quietest lifters with startup “noise” greatly reduced while a precision-controlled bleed down rate ensures excellent performance at high RPM. The cartridge design also allows for an incredibly stiff lifter body, greatly reducing body distortion and further ensuring consistent hydraulic performance.
This patented HCT tappet is not just a performance OE replacement – it is an all new, clean slate design started from a blank canvas that was developed specifically by Comp Cams to meet the demanding performance and durability required for modern street and performance street engines. The Evolution Hydraulic Roller Lifters are available for Gen III Hemi engines including the 5.7, 6.1, 6.2 and 6.4L engines.
Comp also introduced their High Energy Timing Chain for ’09 and later HEMI VVT applications. This Timing Chain is an excellent performance upgrade that exceeds all original equipment timing chain specifications without breaking the bank.
The new chain works with the factory cam phaser and crank gear, so there is no need to replace expensive gears when swapping cams or simply replacing the OE chain. The upgraded chain features thicker plates than the OEM version, and offers over 10% increased tensile strength. This 3/8” pitch inverted tooth chain with 74 links allows for a direct replacement of the stock unit but as an overall stronger option.
