Friday First Look! Goodguys 24th Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals Presented by FiTech Fuel Injection
Who’s ready for some sun, fun, palm trees, hot rods, and beachside vibes in Southern California! The sun’s out – and so are the cars – here in the San Diego as we roll into the weekend for the 24th Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals presented by FiTech Fuel Injection. We’ve got some spectacular weather dialed up for the weekend and thousands of cool cars and trucks registered for what promises to be a delightful time at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
A handful of us got an early start to the weekend with a fun two-day jaunt across the desert on the Destination Del Mar tour, which made stops at some cool shops and sights on Wednesday and Thursday. There was also the traditional Over the Hill Gang Hot Rod Cruise on Thursday to help get gearheads primed for the weekend. By the time the gates opened Friday morning, everyone was revved up and ready for a full day of Goodguys Good Times!
It was a slow build of both cars and people throughout the morning until we had the fairgrounds fully hoppin’ by lunchtime. Cars and trucks streamed through the gate and cruised the lanes all day long, while others showed off throughout the fairgrounds. Three indoor buildings showcased even more cool iron, with the PPG Lowrider Palace in one and a special Suede & Chrome display in another. And in O’Brien Hall, we had a great group of rides contending for the 2025 West Coast d’Elegance award.
There were plenty of activities to check out, as well, from Goodguys AutoCross action to a Summit Racing Nitro Thunderfest exhibition and a swap meet full of great deals. Add in dozens of vendors, great food, and thousands of gearhead friends to connect with, and you had the recipe for a fantastic Friday of automotive fun.
