Friday First Look! Goodguys 38th West Coast Nationals
Are you ready for some California sunshine, thousands of cool cars, and an epic fuel-filled weekend party with your favorite hot rod friends from the Bay Area and beyond? Goodguys sure is, and we’re bringing them all together for the crown jewel of our summer event calendar – the 38th West Coast Nationals at the fabulous Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, California!
The West Coast Nationals is the signature Goodguys national event and we’ve been warming up for the weekend for several days with a variety of cruisin’ and shop visits during Gary Meadors Memorial Hot Rod Week. We caravanned to the central valley on Tuesday, the South Bay on Wednesday, and the Pleasanton area for Thursday’s Poker Run. Each day’s itinerary provided a great opportunity to get your car out for some road time, experience fun destinations, and enjoy time spent with fellow hot rodders.
We shifted into weekend mode Friday morning when thousands of fine rides rolled into the spacious and picturesque Alameda County Fairgrounds for a sun-filled and fun-filled day of activities. There was plenty of showin’ and shinin’, AutoCross racin’, swap meet scourin’, and plenty of other activities to keep any gearhead occupied. And for the first time ever, we even hosted a Goodguys/ASE Careers in Hot Rodding program for Pleasanton-area high school students!
And the best news? We’re just getting started! We’ve got two more days of Goodguys Good Times ahead with thousands of cars and trucks to see, hot rod friends to visit with, and plenty of activities. We’ve got three buildings full of Tri-Five Chevys honoring 70 years of these iconic Bow-Ties, plus scores of vendors both inside and out. Add in a Swap Meet, Nitro Thunderfest exhibitions, a Burnout Competition, Cushman exhibit, Pinstripers Brush Bash, Goodgals Gallery, and much more, and you’ve got a weekend that promises to keep any gearhead on the rev limiter.
