Friday First Look! Goodguys 38th Griot’s Garage Pacific Northwest Nationals Presented by Wicked Fabrication
We’re smack in the middle of summer and it’s fitting that we’re right where we belong – in Puyallup, Washington, for the 38th Griot’s Garage Pacific Northwest Nationals presented by Wicked Fabrication. We’re proud to keep up the good times with the cool people and the amazing cars of the northwest.
Washington is a great place to be in late July as blue skies and perfect weather greeted us at dawn and continued till dusk with plenty of participants cruising through the evening. Actually, the day was a repeat of Thursday when a group of hot rodders joined together in the morning for a poker run around the area thanks to our friends at the King’s Men Car Club. It was a big group of rodders that rolled out from SillyVille on the Fairgrounds to Mad Max Cars, Chris Holstrom Concepts, Martiniano’s Classic Customs, and finishing at the world headquarters of Griot’s Garage.
The cruise season in the northwest is abbreviated compared to much of the country so everyone was anxious to get the 38th running of the Goodguys Northwest Nats rolling! There was a steady stream of hot rods, muscle machines, classic trucks, and customs rolling through the gates of the Washington State Fair Events Center to claim a spot for the day. The cruising in Puyallup never stops and there were waves, thumbs ups, and smiles beaming out of the cars rumbling through SillyVille and about!
When people weren’t cruising, there was plenty to take in including some of the region’s best builders and their latest creations, manufacturers were parked along the midway ready to show their latest parts and help with technical questions. The swap meet had plenty of hidden treasures of vintage tin and collectible parts while inside there was cool artwork being created at the Brush Bash. When it came time for a break from the sun, there were two indoor shows, one in the main hall and another packed full of custom lowriders!
Friday was a great day and Goodguys is just getting started! Saturday and Sunday always brings more cars and cruising, special parking areas, burnouts, and more good times! If you’re in the area, pack up the family and make your way out the Washington State Fair Events Center for the next couple days of the Goodguys 38th Griot’s Garage Pacific Northwest Nationals Presented by Wicked Fabrication– we’ll see you there.
