Friday First Look! Goodguys 26th Summit Racing Nationals Presented by PPG

Here we go, Ohio! It’s time to kick this hot rod summer into high gear with some Goodguys Good Times here at the 26th Summit Racing Nationals Presented by PPG. We just finished Day One of The Big One here at the Ohio Expo Center and by all accounts we have things dialed in for a signature weekend of incredible cars and trucks along with thousands of our favorite gearhead friends.

A little remodeling here on the fairgrounds has changed the layout a little, but with positive attitudes and a little adjustment we overcame the construction drama and made it a great day here in Columbus. Sunny skies, comfortable temperatures in the 80s, and a colorful spectrum of cool rides combined to create a vibrant vehicular scene no matter where you turned.

This event is filled with special features, from the massive indoor display celebrating 60 years of the GTO, to the rumbling Pro Street gathering sponsored by Lokar, complete with supercharged, fat-tired machines making regular parades around the grounds.

Of course, we also have a great field of contenders for the Classic Instruments Street Rod of the Year and PPG Street Machine of the Year competitions. The Street Machine field is especially strong, with more than 30 cars vying for the title! Who will win? Stay tuned for announcements later this weekend following a special awards ceremony for these coveted categories Saturday evening.

As the biggest event on the Goodguys calendar, you can expect much more from the Summit Racing Nationals this weekend. Hundreds of vendors representing the best names in the hot rod aftermarket are here showcasing their products, and there are even educational seminars happening thanks to participation from the Hot Rod Industry Alliance. Add in exciting AutoCross action, a massive swap meet, live entertainment, a Goodgals Gallery, great food, a Burnout Competition, Nitro Thunderfest exhibitions, and constant cruising, and you’ve got a happenin’ hot rod weekend that will keep any enthusiast entertained. Come on out to check it out yourself, or stay tuned to Goodguys social media and FuelCurve.com for all the highlights.
