Goodguys 16th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals

Friday First Look! Goodguys 16th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals presented by Old Air Products

Let’s get this right out in the open: The weather forecast was WRONG! All week there were rumors of rain, flooding in areas, and all sorts of nasty weather around the Dallas/Fort Worth region. Guess what – Not a drop fell on the first day of the Goodguys 16th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals presented by Old Air Products!

Not a drop.

For those that braved the forecasts and were ready to have a hot rodding fun weekend rain or shine, congrats! It was an awesome day with cool cars, cool people and good times including Autocross racing, pit road drag racing that any participant could take in, a swap meet and good-sized gathering of manufacturers, vendors and pro-builders! We even got the speedway track cruise in at the end of the day.

Being Texas, and the LMC Truck Spring Lone Star nationals, there were plenty of sweet pickups cruising around the Texas Motor Speedway infield and many gathered in the LMC Ultimate Truck Showcase special parking area. Plus, Goodguys was also selecting a number of awards for trucks including finalists for the LMC Truck Early and Dakota Digital Truck Late, plus, we were looking for a special Fuel Curve Truck pick!

The Goodguys Autocross action was heating up on the north side of the infield with racers getting a feel for the track to find their fastest line in hopes of qualifying for Saturday’s Speedtech Performance Lone Star Shootout. We’ll have the winners posted on our Weekend Rewind Monday morning.

Show participants also got a chance to get behind the wheel a take a few laps around the speedway or try their hand at some grudge drag racing on pit road! All in all, it didn’t matter what the weather forecasts were showing, hot rodders are ready to have a good ol’ time with family and friends rain or shine!
