Friday First Look! 1st Meguiar’s All-Star Get-Together

Goodguys is capping off a three-week swing of events this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway with the all-new Meguiar’s All-Star Get-Together that kicks off 10 Days of Speed – a week of events leading up to the NASCAR All-Star Race taking place at TMS next weekend! This inaugural event brings all aspects of a normal Goodguys National event with an added twist…all American-made or American-powered vehicles of any year are welcome all three show days!

The Texas crowd is embracing this format as late model muscle cars and trick trucks rolled in early this morning and spread throughout the event. The CPP AutoCross Series track was also a popular attraction to these post-87 vehicles, too, as they were seen carving the cones all day.

Goodguys teamed up with Total Truck Centers to bring the Ultimate Truck Marketplace to this Get-Together event and vendors selling all things truck filled a cup garage showing their stuff. From wenches to tow hitches products could be found to outfit your daily pickup with some of the trickets aftermarket parts and products on the market.

We fired off the Nitro Thunderfest dragsters, hit the track with Team Texas for some NASCAR rides around the banked Texas Motor Speedway oval, shopped the Swap Meet, caught up with old friends, made some new ones, and built up anticipation for a great Saturday at the 1st Meguiar’s All-Star Get-Together weekend!

Director of Media & Marketing

A lifelong car kid, Steven grew up around drag strips – his name may sound familiar because his grandfather is Bob Bunker, a Pro Mod pioneer who piloted the “Folsom Flash” ’55 Chevy from the ’70s through the ’90s. Steven’s father, Bob Bunker Jr., heads up Bunker Motorsports and is a regular in the West Coast racing scene, building chassis and race cars for more than 30 years. With genetics like that, it’s no wonder Steven has a passion for both cars and motorsports. In addition to helping his father and honing his fabrication skills at Bunker Motorsports, Steven began shooting photos at the drag strip and capturing the action with his Canon camera. He is now artfully crafting stories around the awesome machines at the shows, as well as the men and women behind them. When he's is not on the road covering events, he spends his downtime out on the water fishing, building his 1962 Chevy Nova, or cruising his 1987 GMC Suburban.
