Friday First Look! Goodguys 2nd Grundy Insurance Mid-Atlantic Nationals presented by R&M Performance
Who’s ready for some Goodguys Good Times, East Coast style! We’re serving up two action-packed days in Delaware this weekend as the 2nd Grundy Insurance Mid-Atlantic Nationals presented by R&M Performance rolls into Dover Motor Speedway. We had such a good time in the DMS infield last year that we decided to return for more. And by the looks of our first day here, this year’s event will serve up plenty of four-wheeled fun!
We got primed and ready on Thursday as hundreds of cars rolled into town and took part in two different kickoff parties – one at the Bally’s Dover Casino host hotel, and another at a nearby shopping center where a regular weekly cruise night welcomed the Goodguys gang with open arms. What a great way to gear up for the weekend!
Things were a little drizzly and damp as cars arrived at the Mid-Atlantic Nationals this morning, but the moisture quickly subsided and left us with a comfortable Friday afternoon with plenty of sun. Cars and trucks were wiped down and shined up as hot rodders and enthusiasts enjoyed the day, and there were plenty of cool rides to check out. We even got in some Goodguys AutoCross racing by mid-afternoon, plus the evening Track Cruise around the high-banked Monster Mile!
The second day of two-day Mid-Atlantic Nationals promises to be just as enjoyable. We’ll have our full slate of Saturday Specialty Parking Areas, Builder’s Choice Top 10 selections from Mark Giambalvo from Creative Rod & Kustom, plus dozens more awards from the Goodguys team. We’ll also have more AutoCross action, plenty of vendors to visit, live music, cruising, showing and shining, and a late-afternoon awards ceremony to finish things off.
