Dino’s Git Down Does it Again – GM Trucks Gather in Glendale

To Chevy truck owners and fans, November 15th and 16th are essentially holidays. To some, even conidered sacred days. If you scoff at that thought, consider the thousands of GM trucks that made the pilgrimage from across the continent to gather in Glendale, Arizona, to take part in Dino’s Git Down!

Dino’s is the big one. It’s the goal. Deadlines for builds are set. Hotels are booked, coolers and bags are packed and clubs put up tents and grilles for two days celebrating GM trucks, Suburbans, Blazers, S-10s any other truck related GM product. What’s the price to join in all this fun? It’s free. Free to bring your truck, free to bring the family in to enjoy an afternoon!

The event takes place at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, and not only brings in thousands of cool trucks, but there is also over 200 vendors combined with top tier builders showing off their latest creations. You could come out of Dino’s with enough parts to restore a truck, or even build one from scratch! Chassis to bodies and nearly everything in between.

One thing you notice at Dino’s is the camaraderie of the truck fraternity as well as a lot of families taking in the scene. There’s a huge grassy area where clubs and families gather to grille and chill while taking a break from soaking in all the trucks and amazing parts. Back in the vendor area on Saturday afternoon, there were prizes being given away – and not your typical basket of wax or a coupon for a car wash – we’re talking about prizes such as a car trailer, a transmission, a complete EFI system, bucket seat sets and more!

Like the previous years, Dino’s Git Down did not disappoint. The fall Arizona weather was cool and clear, the vendors and builders had their best and brightest on display and there were GM trucks of every type on display. To anyone with a truck project in their garage, you have about 360 days to get it rolling – and it doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to make it to Glendale, Arizona!
