12 Cars of Christmas – #5

I thought Mark Bonnalie (@freedom_files on Instagram) described his recent trip in his Ford F100 truck perfectly, so in his own words…

“This past Sunday, December 13th we drove upriver to Orofino, Idaho like we do each and every winter to traipse through the deep snow in hopes that a perfect Charlie Brown Christmas Tree would say…‘Psst…Hey you, I’m the one! Take me home!’

“The temp was 28 degrees and the road from my Mom and Dad’s house up the hill was slick as all get out. I thought I had the Ford ready for anything but with the slick conditions and then noticing all my rear tire studs were gone, turned our adventurous snow day in the Ford into more of a ‘let’s go find our tree and get off the mountain!’

“On our way down the hill we stopped and visited with my parents. My Mom was making Christmas Wreathes and sent us home with ours. Lots of hugs and smiles. Just about a perfect day.”

“As you can see, we found our tree for Christmas 2020…not too big, not too small. Life’s good. And I think good gets better. Merry Christmas from mine to yours. Life’s short. Drive far. See lots. Enjoy it all like you could lose it tomorrow…”

Director of Media & Marketing

A lifelong car kid, Steven grew up around drag strips – his name may sound familiar because his grandfather is Bob Bunker, a Pro Mod pioneer who piloted the “Folsom Flash” ’55 Chevy from the ’70s through the ’90s. Steven’s father, Bob Bunker Jr., heads up Bunker Motorsports and is a regular in the West Coast racing scene, building chassis and race cars for more than 30 years. With genetics like that, it’s no wonder Steven has a passion for both cars and motorsports. In addition to helping his father and honing his fabrication skills at Bunker Motorsports, Steven began shooting photos at the drag strip and capturing the action with his Canon camera. He is now artfully crafting stories around the awesome machines at the shows, as well as the men and women behind them. When he's is not on the road covering events, he spends his downtime out on the water fishing, building his 1962 Chevy Nova, or cruising his 1987 GMC Suburban.
