Instrument Upgrade with Classic Instrument’s Direct Fit OBS Gauges for ’88 – ’94 Chevys
There are some phenomenal Chevy OBS pickups, Tahoes, and Suburbans being built these days and their popularity continues to grow. As more trucks are being built or restored, that means the aftermarket develops more parts to help the process – such as Classic Instruments cool new OBS Gauges.
Classic’s direct-fit gauge cluster is designed for the ’88 – ’94 OBS Chevy trucks or SUVs and is made up of their advanced, all-electric gauges featuring a speedometer, tach, fuel, oil, temp, and volt gauges in a refined, yet OE style. There’s a digital OLED odometer with trip meter and optional digital speed readout plus hybrid LED lighting provides the feel of the original perimeter lighting and the visual benefits of back-lighting for even illumination and clear nighttime readability. Speaking of lights, there’s also the requisite indicators for the check engine, high beam, shift lights, plus an integrated LED dimmer.
Hill’s Hot Rods out of Lubbock, Texas, recently debuted this bitchin’ ’93 Blazer with one of the Classic’s first sets of the OBS dash. The dash is a refined version of stock from this side, but is all modern tech behind the scenes, thoug if you have something custom in mind, Classic can work with you on a plan.
The OBS Gauges feature push-button calibration for easy setup and a built-in ECM signal filter. To measure your speed, their Zeus Speedometer Technology works directly with ECM or VSS signals – no extra wiring or boxes needed. The fuel gauge is programmable to work with different fuel sending unit ohm ranges and Classic supplies all the other sending units needed. If you’re already running a GM or Holley EFI system Classic’s Zeus-Link (available separately) will provide a direct connection to GM and Holley ECUs to share data and save sensor duplication and extra wiring.
