Goodguys Welcomes Chevrolet Performance as New Sponsor of Inaugural Builder of the Year Award

Chevrolet Performance has signed on as the first-ever official sponsor of the “Builder’s Choice Saturday Special Area” and the presenting sponsor of the all-new “Chevrolet Performance Builder of the Year” award.

Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, the organizer of America’s premier hot rod and custom car events, has announced that Chevrolet Performance is now the official sponsor of the “Goodguys Chevrolet Performance Builder’s Choice Saturday Special Area” for the remainder of the 2021 event series, beginning with the 11th FiTech Fuel Injection Spring Nationals in Scottsdale, Arizona this weekend. As part of this sponsorship, Goodguys is adding two new trophies to its 2021 “Of the Year” awards, the “Goodguys Chevrolet Performance Builder of the Year,” one which will recognize and showcase the top GM vehicle, and one the top non-GM vehicle, and their builders.

“This is a special partnership in many ways, but the most significant piece is Chevrolet’s support in recognizing not only the cars, but the builders who developed them,” said Goodguys VP of Sales & Partnerships Jason Snyder. “Chevrolet Performance is legendary in respect to performance and hot rodding, but also emerging with new technology that allows the hot-rodding and custom community to continue to break new ground. To have Chevrolet Performance support Builder’s Choice and recognize professional builders is special for all involved.”

“Chevrolet Performance is proud to partner with Goodguys and recognize builders who are passionate about Hot Rods and Performance. This is an exciting opportunity for us to connect with our loyal enthusiasts” said Todd Gallant, Chevrolet Performance Marketing Manager.

The competition for the “Chevrolet Performance Builder of the Year” title will begin at the 11th FiTech Fuel Injection Spring Nationals in Scottsdale on April 16-18 and continue through the 20th Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals on October 1-3, 2021. To participate, builders will need to register their participating vehicle when they check-in for each event and must park their vehicle in the special parking area on Saturday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. One vehicle and its builder will be chosen as a “finalist” for each class by the Goodguys and Chevrolet Performance Awards Selection Committee. The classes include the “Chevrolet GM Iron Builder of the Year” for GM vehicles, and the “Chevrolet Retro Iron Builder of the Year” for non-GM vehicles with a GM powertrain to build a field of 14 competitors for each class.
