Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction Spotlight – 1966 Nova
The upcoming Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction, scheduled for Sept 27-29 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino features some high-powered machines in terms of performance and legacy. With the recent passing of Burt Reynolds, two of the auction’s top sellers will most likely be his pair of ‘78 Pontiac Firebirds dressed in screaming-chicken livery. There’s also Elvis Presley’s ’71 Mercedes 280 SEL as well as ’76 Alfa Romeo Spyder formerly owned by boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
While those are certainly headliner’s at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction, we’re focusing today on this 1966 Chevy Nova Resto-Mod by Route 66 Motorsports which reflects today’s muscle machine scene.
A high performance corner-carver, the Nova, listed as Lot #736, is set up to not only beat you in a stop light sprint, but it is setup to out handle a Bimmer.
Riding on a Schwartz Performance chassis equipped with Wilwood brakes and 18-inch Boze wheels, this econo-box means business. That rock-solid foundation is necessary considering the 6.2-liter, 540-horsepower LS swap. As you can see, the owner spared no expense in dressing up the mill with a custom sheet metal engine cover, faux valve covers to hide the coil packs and plenty of other dress up bling. In fact, the owner has $325,000 in receipts for this build.
And what goes better with a PPG Torch Red exterior? A brown leather interior of course! For comfort and style power windows have been added, along with a modern, four-speaker audio system, seatbelts, an Ididit steering column and a Billet Specialties steering wheel not to mention Vintage Air A/C.
So if you’re a fan of classic Novas and have room in your garage, this might be the Resto-Mod you have craved for years. The folks at Barrett-Jackson are the best at making it easay for you to purchase cars at auction. If you can’t get there in person, you can bid online! Get registered here.
