ARP Makes Wrenching Easier with their New Reduced Wrenching Bolts
Working on hot rods and race cars can be a challenge when it comes to space and access to certain components and parts. Everyone knows what it’s like to get a wrench on a bolt and only have the space to turn it a quarter-turn at a time. Given the space constraints that many builders face, the fastener experts at ARP have incorporated some “Reduced Wrenching” bolts into their lineup.
These bolts feature a slightly smaller head size. For example, 3/8-16 and 3/8-24 bolts are offered with either 3/8” or 7/16” heads. Likewise, 7/16-14 and 7/16-20 bolts have 7/16” or 1/2” wrenching heads.
Available in polished stainless steel or black oxide coated 8740 chrome moly steel, the 3/8” bolts are available with underhead lengths ranging from .500” to 5.000”. The 7/16” bolts range from 1.500” to 5.000”. A choice of hex or 12-point heads is also offered.
Both the polished stainless steel and 8740 chrome moly bolts are nominally rated at 180,000 psi —fully 20% stronger than Grade-8 hardware. Like all ARP bolts, they are forged, heat-treated, and precision machined in-house with the industry’s highest material, manufacturing and quality control standards – and made in the USA.
In addition to the by-size 5-packs, ARP’s polished stainless steel and black oxide coated 8740 chrome moly fasteners are available by specific applications, as well as comprehensive Engine & Accessory Fastener Kits for most popular engines.
