There’s just something about a Chevy S10 or GMC s15 pickup, as well as their Blazer/SUV counterparts. They look great a little lower, even better with a V8-swap, but even fairly stock ones can be a lot of fun! To make your V8 swapped S-truck even more fun to drive, and to handle the abuse of doubled horsepower, American Powertrain now offers a 5-speed Tremec Pro-Fit TKX Transmission Conversion Kit for ’82 – ’05 Chevy S10 / GMC S15 pickups and SUVs! The kit, designed to be a turnkey swap, works for most any LS or GM V8 conversion and includes a new streamlined Tremec Pro-Fit TKX 5-speed transmission that touts 8,000 rpm shift capability and 600 lb-ft of torque capacity.
Included with the kit is a White Lightning Billet TKX Mid-Shift conversion that is designed for a factory tunnel fitment and features a crisp, short throw shift. When American Powertrain says complete, they mean it as the kit also includes their Hydramax hydraulic clutch bearing, and hydraulic clutch pedal assembly, a driveshaft, polyurethane transmission mount, pilot bearing for LS engines (SBC/BBC swaps), back-up light harness, speedometer (electronic or mechanical) output, shifter knob in addition to all hardware, instructions and warranty.
