A Look Inside the 2025 Performance Racing Industry Show from Indianapolis
Why would we be going to Indianapolis on a mid-December weekend? There’s certainly no cruising, racing or even a cars and coffee gathering going on thanks to the 15-degree weather and blanket of snow on covering the ground. However, inside the Indiana Convention Center, it’s pre-race season at the 39th PRI Show show!
The Performance Racing Industy Show is an industry-only trade show, meaning race shops, builders and racers of all disciplines, that takes place in downtown Indy. If it’s a machine, tool or part that is used in racing, you’ll find it at Indy. We’re talking hardcore race parts manufacturers, tool and CNC equipment, trailer companies, sanctioning bodies and more for three solid days.

As far as parts are concerned, if it goes on a race car, you will find it at the PRI Show. We’re talking hardcore racing parts from dirt track racing to NASCAR, Karts to NHRA, autocross to road course. The great thing is for us Hot Rodders is that there are a lot of great parts on display that trickle down to our muscle machines, street rods and pro touring machines. The technology that comes from the race track trickles down to our street cars and really, who doesn’t like to see the latest products for race cars.
Wandering through aisles of turbochargers, garbage can lid size brake rotors, safety harnesses and slicks gives you an opportunity to talk to the experts and learn a few things about the parts and best practices. Brake pad formulations, piston ring materials, advanced EFI systems, antifriction coatings, tire compounds or cylinder head flow, it’s all here for the taking in.
While the parts and components are the big draw, there are so many cool cars on display. Funny cars, off-road trucks, Indy cars, pro stock, NASCAR, you name it. Most car people dig anything mechanical so it’s also cool to swing through Machinery Row to check out all sorts of welders, CNC machines, fab tables, grinders, blasters and more.
After spending a couple days at the PRI Show, your Christmas list is going to be a lot longer and you’ll be hankering for something with serious speed! Just take a look at our gallery and perhaps make plans to attend the show next year (remember, it’s an industry-only event so you’ll need to register ahead of time).
