Sights and Scenes from the 2024 Goodguys Hall of Fame Road Tour – Part 1
The 2024 Goodguys Hall of Fame Road Tour group hit the road earlier this week to begin a week-long trek through some of the most beautiful scenery America has to offer. The route this year visits historic landmarks, National Parks, iconic backroads, and old west towns, and of course hot rod and automotive stops and shops along the way.
The group of 70 vehicles, all pre-1999 per the Goodguys 25-year-rolling event cutoff, all converged on Rapid City, South Dakota on Sunday for the check-in process and a kickoff dinner of nearly 150 people to get things started. On Monday the trek west began with a quick breakfast stop and shop visit at Revision Rods & Rides and then it was into the Black Hills to visit Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, drive on the twisty and narrow Needles Highway, and checking out the Crazy Horse National Monument before rolling into Deadwood for the night.
Day two led the group to the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Saab Heritage Car Museum first thing in the morning, then it was a nice drive across state lines into Wyoming with an optional stop at the Aladdin General Store just down the road. The general store dates back to 1896 and most of the cruisers opted for the stop, many calling it a highlight of the trip so far. After some refreshments and the opportunity to stretch legs it was off to Devils Tower National Monument followed by the Frontier Auto Museum before landing in Buffalo, Wyoming for the evening.
The final day for this Part 1 recap was a day to cover ground and enjoy the open road. It was nearly 400 miles to get from Buffalo, Wyoming over to Jackson, Wyoming, but the drive was incredible! The route took us through Cody, Wyoming and into Yellowstone National Park on the eastern entrance. The photo opportunities were plentiful once in the park, but dusk was drawing near so it was over to Jackson through the Grand Teton National Park for the night. The following day was a leisure day in Jackson to spend the day on your own…many cruisers opting to go back to the park to see iconic sights such as Old Faithful, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Hayden Valley, Yellowstone Lake, multiple hot springs, and the list goes on and on. We’ll kick off the Part 2 recap for more from Yellowstone.
There’s a few more days on the road until we arrive at our destination, so be sure to check back first thing next week to for Part 2 of our adventure. You can also see daily updates on all the Goodguys social media channels, or by checking out #ggroadtour for the bucket of content all cruisers are uploading photos and videos to.
