A Lightning White Custom ’68 Chevy C10 from Ron Jones Garage

Just north of Denver, Colorado, in the town of Windsor, Greg Spaur and his wife Anna raised three girls on a chunk of land straddling the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains. When he’s not tilling the earth on his farm, Greg’s burning up the street or strip on the weekends. A big fan of 1967-72 GM trucks since he was a kid, Greg now owns two C10 pickups – a supercharged big block racer and this pearly white ’68 model you see before you that earned the Chevrolet Performance GM Iron Builder of the Year finalist nod for Ron Jones Garage at the Colorado Nationals.

Custom C10 pickups are like four-chord rock songs – most combinations have been done long ago. Because of this, it’s best to keep things pure and simple. The team at Ron Jones Garage did just that. The guys took a worn and well-loved C10 and whittled it down to its white-hot essence.

Starting with a Speedtech chassis that delivers an agile suspension ready for the road or track, Ron Jones and his team nestled a murdered-out 6.2-liter 580hp LSA V8 from Chevrolet Performance between the front rails. The big mill exhales through Magnaflow exhaust and power is sent to the stern via a 4L60E transmission. Dropping the anchor is easy with burly six-piston Baer brakes all the way around. The truck rolls down the tarmac on meaty 20-inch Schott wheels and Michelin Pilot gumballs at each corner.

The C10 body has received numerous subtle mods, including one-piece side glass, shaved moldings, and custom valances shorn of the factory bumpers. Many other tweaks were made as well, but you’d be hard-pressed to pin them all down. The sum of the mods translates to a truck that just looks super bitchin’. After the sheet metal was massaged to arrow-straight perfection, it was sprayed out in a shimmering pearl white paint from Spies Hecker.

Inside, the truck sports a couple of blood-red cow hides from Relicate Leather that were stitched up by PJ’s Upholstery. A custom console, bespoke steering wheel, Vintage Air, and TMI seat are expertly curated for modern comfort, as well. The red and black color combo pops especially hard against the bright white exterior.

Like your favorite old song, Greg’s C10 is rock steady and ready to roll. He and Anna are thoroughly enjoying the truck and look forward to showing it at car shows and Goodguys events in 2025. Ron Jones Garage and his crew are a very hot commodity these days, and this truck is yet another feather in their cap.
